That’s why we developed the HOME Program (Housing Opportunities & Meaningful Empowerment)—a transformative initiative designed to address the critical need for permanent supportive housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, including those with disabled household members for Louisiana residents. Our goal is to launch this program in Acadia Parish—an area identified as having a critical need for sustainable living solutions for low-income families.

🌍 Why It Matters

• Approximately 12.6% of the population in Acadia Parish experiences severe housing problems.
• Families with disabled children are particularly vulnerable, with an estimated 84 children in Acadia Parish requiring specialized support.
• Affordable housing is scarce, and many homes in rural areas are deteriorating or inaccessible.

 The HOME Program is a response to these challenges—offering not just housing, but the tools, skills, and community support families need to thrive.

Past Projects:

• In 2020, in partnership with Build & Create LLC, a Louisiana-based company, we purchased and rehabilitated three homes as part of clean-up and recovery efforts following Hurricane Laura. During the renovation process, we connected prospective buyers with local credit counseling services and down payment assistance programs, helping them transition into first-time homeownership. This initiative not only restored blighted properties but also empowered low-income families to build generational wealth through stable housing.
• In 2021, we expanded our efforts through a partnership with Next Level Development Inc., a Texas-based organization. Over a two-year period, we purchased and fully renovated 13 properties in collaboration with the City of Dallas. These homes—originally marked for demolition due to tax delinquency—were restored and sold to low-income families. Each family received credit repair counseling and down payment assistance, and the homes were sold at 25% below market value to ensure long-term affordability. These joint initiatives not only revitalized underserved communities but also provided secure homeownership opportunities for families in need.
