OUR FOUNDER
Tameka Monroe is a native of Crowley, Louisiana who currently resides in San Antonio, Texas with her spouse and children. Mrs. Monroe is a graduate of Louisiana State University, in which she holds a BA of Communication Studies degree and has gone on to co-own an online boutique and crawfish food truck with her husband, Cody Monroe. She is currently a Senior Customer Advisor with Amazon Business. Mrs. Monroe possess 13 years of B2B sales experience (Amazon Business: American Express; Sinclair Broadcast) and 5 years as a Social Worker with TX Dept of Child Protective Services.
The drive to open a residential treatment center is what led Mrs. Monroe to developing A LIFE BRAND NEW HOME, as her experience and home environment combined led her to understand the trials a kid face when they are not being reared in a healthy, loving home. With limited funds, at the age of 23, she worked towards developing additional programs and events that would benefit these families immediately. Mrs. Monroe wrote Raising A Well-Balanced Family parenting workbook, which was used for parenting classes; to further enhance a parent's life skills, financial training, and parenting style. This program was taught to 100+ participants over the course of 2 years and sought out by the Calcasieu Parish Corrections facility to be used for their inmates.
She was nominated for the Louisiana Bar Association Award and Governors Award back in 2010/2011 and received a Proclamation to the City of Lake Charles, two years in a row, by Mayor Randy Roach, for the outstanding services provided in support of child abuse prevention & awareness. Mrs. Monroe also received a Community Service award from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
